Currently listening to: Um, Backstreet Boys, what else?
Mood: Tired, but clean (cleaning apartment)
This post's going to be short and sweet, but I wanted to apologize for not being more up-to-date! I just finished 2 weeks of finals, so I had no time to talk to anyone or do anything other than work and study. Well, that's how it is all the time, but the intensity was just increased exponentially! Anways, everything went well: I got an A on my final and presentation for my marine geo class, so I definitely got an A in that class, and I'm guessing I got a B on my physical oceanography final, with a curve, so I think I'll get a B overall, which isn't too bad. I get a week off from class, so I'm trying to clean up the mess I've made in my room, before my last class of the semester starts. I'll be taking a four-week seminar on deep sea coral reefs. Should be pretty good. Anything's better than learning about sediment and physics. I'm glad I got the drier classes out of the way. Although it was kind of interesting and crazy, because in both classes I had been learning about tsunamis in detail when the one in Japan struck. It's one thing learning about the aftermath in class, but when you actually have friends in Japan, it kind of hits a little closer to home, so that was another stress added to these past couple of weeks (luckily everyone I know is ok). I feel kind of bad that I find natural disasters really interesting, but so would you if normally all you learned about was the derivatives of fluid motion and how calcium carbonate is the makeup of biomineralization. Ugh!
And one last note, I finished 'basic training' for my volunteer postion at the Marine Mammal Conservancy, so if a stranding ever occurs, I can go and help! Exciting!
